Charitable IRA Giving

Greetings!

As a great supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis, we knew you would want to know of a tax law that is ending at the end of December of 2011.  The Charitable IRA LEGISLATION will allow anyone over 70 1/2 years of age to donate up to $100,000 tax free from their traditional or ROTH IRA account to our club to allow us to provide a services in a positive and safe place to over 3,000 area kids.

Charitable IRA Legislation

On December 17, 2010, the president signed the extended charitable IRA legislation, which will be in effect until this Dec. 31, 2011.  This charitable option allows donors aged 70½ or older to move up to $100,000 from their traditional or ROTH IRAs directly to qualified charities without having to pay income taxes on the money.

The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis is a qualified charity! As always, please phone Helen Higgins or Liz Doyle (541-757-1909) here at the club if you have any questions or contact your investment professional.

Thank you for your consideration and thank you for investing in our future citizens.

Warm Regards,

Helen Higgins, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis

Important reminders:  As you know, the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis is much more than just a place for kids to go after school. We provide a wide scope of services to our members from art programs, teen leadership training, to homework and tutoring help. In addition we provide over 400 meals a day and help fulfill basic health care needs for many children. To date, our free dental clinic has treated over 2,000 children and we are increasingly working towards providing children with preventative rather than emergency care.

We believe that all children should have a place where they can reach their full potential so we offer our programs and services at a significantly low cost. While it costs us $1,500 a year to provide programming for each child we serve, an annual Club membership is only $25. We also give out over $30,000 a year in scholarships so kids can participate in athletics and special after-school and non-school day programs. We are able to serve the youth and families of Corvallis who need us most because of the generous support of donors like you.
