Dr. Ken Johnson had a dream to provide dental care to the children of Benton County who did not have access because of the lack of financial resources. In pursuit of that dream, Ken partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis to create the only fully functional, state of the art, volunteer dental clinic. Since February 26^th, 2008, the Clinic has served over 2,200 youth with the help of other volunteer dentists and hygienists.  This project has been a labor of love from Ken and Dot, and our community professionals have supported this project every step of the way.In 2009, the Club formed a community collaboration with Benton County Health department that brought together the dental resources and expertise of the health center to expand the services to Benton County youth who were now covered under the Oregon Health Plan expansion of 2010. By bringing together the core mission of the Health Department with the facility resources of the Johnson Dental Clinic, we are ensuring that the youth of Benton County will have access to dental care to continue to alleviate unnecessary dental pain and suffering.The Clinic is supported through donations and a rental fee to help cover the costs of maintaining our state of the art equipment, supplies, and services to youth and parents of youth who do not have access to insurance.If you would like to participate in volunteering, or making a financial donation to the Johnson Dental clinic, please contact Helen Higgins at hhiggins@bgccorvallis.org.
