Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp for 2011 was a great success!

Stay tuned for updates for Summer Day Camp 2012

2011 Program Information

Summer Day Camp is a program for Elementary School and Middle School youth. Each week has a different theme: Camping in the Great Outdoors, Around the World Adventures, Pirates of the Boys & Girls Club, Contruction Zone, Under the Deep Blue Sea and Beaver Believers and more! Check out our 2011 brochure!

Elementary age kids enjoy our camp because of interaction with children their own age and the wide variety of activities offered. Parents appreciate our camp because they know it is quality care for their kids. Our small group size and low adult-to-child ratio are critical in providing a comfortable atmosphere for participants. Additionally, the release of children is monitored to ensure that they are released to the appropriate person.

Location

Summer Day Camp operates out of the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis facility at 1112 NW Circle Blvd. Our air conditioned facility houses two gyms, with a performing arts stage,a computer lab, art center, games room, several playing fields, modern competitive track, community tennis courts and is easily accessible to the Osborn Aquatic Center and city parks.

Camp Activities

Weekly Cabin groups allow children to bond with old and new friends of the same age group. They choose from a menu of exciting activities that correspond with that week's theme. Cabins allow the activities to be tailored to the children's specific skill level and interests so they will be creatively challenged, while still having a chance to relax and play.

Afternoon weekly clubs will give the campers opportunities to play pickle ball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, disc golf and other sports. In addition campers will explore science i.e. flubber, electro active slime & edible ectoplasm, magic chemistry, things that fly, cooking, drama and arts and crafts.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks are provided at no additional cost. (Breakfast and lunch are provided by the Corvallis School District.)

Camp Staff
We feel that positive adult interactions are crucial to a child’s well being, so we have made finding quality staff a priority. We hire youth development professionals with backgrounds in early childhood development, education, recreation and other child-related areas. Our staff all have First-Aid/CPR Training and undergo a thorough background check. We staff our camp at an approximate ratio of one adult for every 12 children.
