We completed our 31st year of teaching incoming kindergarten youth important safety skills in preparation for the first day of School. Over 100 students went on field trips to the fire station and park and learned about water safety, how to safely greet a dog and what to say to a stranger. Safety Towner’s also practiced their driving and pedestrian skills on our miniature cityscape.
Thirty volunteer teens, many who are Safety Town alumni, learned how to work with school age youth and build work skills for their future resumes. Special thanks to Corvallis Fire Department, Pacific Power, Corvallis School district, Osborn Aquatic First Student and our safety dogs, Molly and Max Higgins.
