Tee ball is designed as an introductory program to the game of baseball and precursor to softball. The focus of this league is basic instruction of skills, rules and game awareness. The program teaches sportsmanship, respect, responsibility and teamwork, while having fun. A batting tee is used to hit, as there is no live pitching. Everyone bats, everyone plays and positions are switched every inning. No scores or standings are kept at this level.
Tee ball practices and games take place on Monday & Wednesday evenings at 6pm, starting May 15, 2024. Games will start in June.
Coaches are usually parents who enjoy sharing their knowledge of the game while encouraging confidence, learning and fun, through positive, simple and basic instruction. If you would like to help coach a team, you must submit a volunteer application. All coaches will receive training and help with designing practice plans. All equipment and practice/game space is provided. All coaches who are on the field instructing kids other than their own are required to pass a background check.
The BGCC supplies bats, balls and helmets. Players should have their own gloves and water bottles with a name. Personal helmets are encouraged, for sanitary reasons. Cleats are optional.
All kids registered “on time” will receive a team shirt and matching hat. Grey baseball pants are recommended, but not mandatory.
All practices and home games are held at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis (Johnson Teen Center Fields) both T-ball & Mite teams play in a league with PYAC and will travel to Philomath MS to play away games.
Registration is closed for the 2024 season.
